With curious eyes one can come across some spectacular hidden gems. Luckily, no searching was required to find these babes and their bomb a$$ t-shirts. I spent the day with the girls and their leader, Lisa Soltis, fine arts illustrator and creator of designs at The L.A.S. Collective. Skater-surfer vibes and edgy, earthy accessories are a few of her specialties … plus her kickass attitude shines through her designs for all the babes to wear. Total score.
I used to work part-time as a stage hand at CPH. I’d help load the fly rail, tear down shows, set up lights, and my favorite, run the light board. One day we were organizing gels and there were a few scrap pieces Erin said I could have.
Fast forward to this April evening in my bedroom. Listening to SZA, in my own lil zone, this happened.
Incandescent light x colored gels
This series came to me early Easter morning, April 1. As I slipped into my long lace shirt, I felt angelic and free. I couldn’t help but think, “she is risen.” After all, Easter is about rebirth, growth, and gratitude.
I am so grateful for the person I’ve become. I’ve experienced extreme lows and highs and as I reflect, I think about how I’ve died and come back to life. As terrifying as it is to recreate ourselves, the outcome is heavenly. A new being. A fresh start. There’s nothing quite like it. RISE UP. Reach toward your summit. Know your worth and put in the work to become the person you know you are.
When Sam and I are both in town, we can't resist a good shoot. I spent some time with the ever-gorgeous kitty cat, cruising around Lima, musing abandoned flower shops. Sam had new shades. I had a new prism. It was a good day. Our little adventure brought us some really nice colors, visuals, and plenty of great snapshots.

Work sent me on a thrift store assignment the other day. I saw these .99c purple roundies and they had to be mine. #VIP
It was one of those in between nights - I dressed up but didn't want to go anywhere. And #LBH bed is #1.
So naturally, this happened.

Cartier-Bresson once said, "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." An idea I never paid much mind until I had a this dream:
In front of me were two pictures of the same subject; one in focus and one out of focus. Both were excellent, but the obscure one intrigued me the most.
So today in the woods, I shot out of focus. Woah, man. The way the colors melt together, seeming to create a natural painting ... it’s awesome. New shapes are revealed and colors take precedence. The results are familiar and cozy and remind me of home.
Man, Henri was a boss. Much respect for this man and this technique.
So, the Firebird ran out of Funk Juice.
She was running on fumes for some time, not even sure how she got this far. Haulin’ balls around the bend, suddenly the Bird came to a halt. She flashed an *indubious* grin, knowing there was only one thing left to do…
So, she pushed and pouted and roared with laughter until all of a sudden ... the Funk Juice was overflowing and the Firebird never ran out again.
And she was off. Cruising down the highway being a timeless bird once more.
Enjoy the cheeks. And if you ever run out of Funk Juice, just get nakid.
